Elizabeth Bonker never spoke a word in her valedictorian speech at Florida’s Rollins College earlier this month. Bonker has a form of nonspeaking autism and hasn’t spoken since she was 15 months old. In her address, she spoke about how learning to type on a keyboard unlocked her from a “silent cage.” She encouraged her fellow graduates to use their voices to help and serve others, saying “God gave you a voice.
