Purifoy — who will be entering the sixth grade this fall — cooks, plays tennis and basketball, takes dance classes and acts.
In addition to all of this, she also runs her own salad dressing business: Orange Summer.
At just 10 years old this young girl is making her dream a reality. Within the next year or two, the mother/daughter duo is aiming to bring Purifoy’s original goal to life: A salad food truck.
One summer day when Purifoy was 6, she and her mom, Takara White, were making a grilled chicken salad together.
While making it, Purifoy said they should start a salad food truck.
“I always liked eating my vegetables and staying healthy,” Purifoy said. “I’ve always seen food trucks filled with tacos or junk food. I wanted one with salad instead.”
