After picking $100 for pay it forward I thought about who doesn’t get that much help and I thought well the senior citizens. I feel like sometimes they are forgotten. One of my best friends, Angela, always talks about her senior family. She is a nurse at Milan Estates Assisted Living and I asked her she could help. She was super excited. I asked her if there was anything that they needed, any kind of crafts or any kind of party favors. She said what do you think about throwing them a pizza party. I said that would be an amazing idea. She also told me that they play bingo on Thursdays and could always use prizes because they didn’t have many. I said absolutely, my son and I went first to go get some prizes. (He thought would be an awesome idea. ) I then went with Angela for the second time because I thought she would know more than my son and I about what kind of prizes we should give. We bought an Easter bunny stuffed animal for a lady who likes to touch soft stuff. At the party I got to meet a couple that were in there together, she didn’t really remember anything but her husband was very alert. I also got to see another couple, she lived there but he didn’t, but he would come visit as often as possible. Meeting them made me very happy because I made a difference for one day. I got a lot of thank you’s and “the pizza tasted so good”. They were also excited to get cupcakes and cookies. It was a big success and I will be going back soon just to see if they need any kind of help. I love putting smiles on people’s faces every day. It’s just the little things in life that counts… – SANDRA
