Summers needed a new set of tires, which would cost more than $600, to make her vehicle safe and dependable.
However, it was more than the elderly woman could afford.
“I said, ‘Well, I can’t do all the tires. I can just do the one. Just tell me how much the one tire is going to be,’” Summers explained.
Trooper Drew Stoner of the Texas Department of Public Safety (TDPS) was waiting for an oil change.
That’s when he overheard Summers’ conversation with Oregueda.
“I’m thinking, ‘What if she goes out on the road and a tire goes out on her [or] kind of falls apart on her, and she’s on the side of the road?’” Trooper Stoner shared.
Trooper Stoner stopped at the front counter before leaving the shop. He paid for a new set of tires for the elderly woman without saying anything to her.
He quickly exited the establishment.
Shortly after, Oregueda informed Summers that she would be leaving with four brand-new tires.
Summers told Trooper Stoner, “I’m just so thankful for you, and I’m so proud.” “I’m proud to meet someone that has a heart that big. I just love you to death.”
Oregueda, moved by Trooper Stoner’s selfless act of kindness, ended up giving Summers a free oil change.
God bless you. ???
