Alicia* is a survivor of sex trafficking. The restaurant where Alicia works was forced to drastically decrease her hours because of the financial burden from COVID-19. After being unable to purchase even basic necessities, she received personal hygiene products from our MKE Resource Hub. Alicia shared with us that having resources until she was able to get more hours at the restaurant made her less vulnerable to her former trafficker who was trying to re-exploit her during her unemployment.
