This story really touches our heart. Zoe, age 3, is battling cancer and given the pandemic could not risk going trick or treating this year. Her parents erected a simple sign in the yard saying “Sorry, no candy. Child with cancer. See you next year.”
The family was very touched when children started leaving some of their own candy under the sign and soon a huge pile of sweet treats had been left. One girl even dumped her entire bag of candy in the pile!
While the candy was deeply appreciated, these sweet gestures of kindness meant even more.
