Farmers in Sardinia, Italy were very surprised when they found a puppy with green fur among their new litter of puppies. While the puppy’s color is starting to fade to white, the original green fur color has been enjoyed by all who have met Pistachio.
In the womb, Pistachio (and other rare green pups) are likely exposed to a pigment called biliverdin. This causes their fur to turn green but it is not harmful at all.
Welcome to the world, Pistachio!
