Remembering 9/11: How a Small Town in Canada Restored the Faith of Thousands of Americans

On this anniversary of 9/11, it is hard to forget the devastation that occurred on that dark day.  Yet, stories of hope emerged and one of the greatest took place in Gander, Newfoundland in Canada.  Eight flights were scheduled to land on 9/11/01 but when air space over the U.S. was shut down, 38 planes carrying 7,000 people arrived unexpectedly in this small town.
This caring community rallied to provide shelter, food, clothes and comfort to their new friends in need until they departed on September 13th.  While they were not seeking thanks, many of the recipients of their generosity created and contributed to a scholarship fund for local high school students that still exists today.
Please take five minutes to watch this touching video as it may reaffirm or restore your faith in humanity.
